About the ASM-TMC Chapter
Who We Are
The American Society of Microbiology – Texas Medical Center (ASM-TMC) Chapter is a professional scientific organization serving microbiologists, infectious-disease researchers, and biomedical scientists across the Houston area and the Texas Medical Center.
We are a local chapter of the American Society of Microbiology (ASM), the oldest and largest single life-science membership organization in the world, with more than 30,000 members across 120 countries.

- Organizing scientific seminars, symposia, and journal clubs at TMC institutions
- Hosting networking and social events to connect researchers at all career levels
- Offering professional-development programming (career panels, grant-writing workshops, science communication training)
